Pasir Belanda is located on the bank of a river in a kampung (village), just outside the bustle of Kota Bharu city towards the well known Pantai Cahaya Bulan beach.
It is a green and peaceful rural area, perfect for exploring on foot, or by bicycle or boat. Here the heart of the Malay culture can be found.
As you roam around the kampung you will meet craftsmen and women painting batik, weaving decorative cloth known as songket, carving wood and making kites. You've every chance of seeing a fisherman throwing his net to catch fish or a monkey picking coconuts for his owner.
Pasir Belanda is run by a Dutch couple, Harry and Annemieke Mulder. They can also help you with arranging activities or booking accommodation at the Perhentian Islands and other places.

At Pasir Belanda you can rent a bicycle. We have written several tours to explore the area.
You can also take part in workshops like Malay Cooking, Batik painting or Kite Making.

How to reach us
Public transport:
By taxi it is 10 minutes from the bus terminal (city centre),
15 minutes from the airport and
20 minutes from the train station (Wakaf Bharu).
By car:
In Kota Bharu follow the signboards to the beach Pantai Cahaya Bulan.
Turn right about 100 meters after the big Mosque in Kampung Banggol (on the PCB road) and follow the signboards to Pasir Belanda.
